Before coming to see our Consultant Physicians, ask yourself what specifically are the problems you are facing in your life since your cancer diagnosis and treatment. A reliable checklist you can refer to is called the “Distress Thermometer and Problem list”, which can be downloaded here: Checklist It takes just 5 minutes to complete and can help prompt the conversation with you, your family and carers as to what current ongoing or future problems you face.

Evexia Care recognises the importance of cannabis to mitigate side effects from your cancer treatments. Further clinical trials are investigating the benefits of medicinal cannabis to provide the evidence needed for supportive care in cancer treatments. We are able to discuss this if you require.
Clinics are held weekdays from 9 am until 5 pm.
You can ask us questions, register your interest, book an appointment and join our mailing list at www.evexia.care or call us on the number displayed on this website.
To maximise your face to face care we will be requesting your doctor(s) provide any information related to your cancer care at least 5 working days prior to meeting us. We may need your written permission for them to send these to us. This information will allow our Evexia Care Physicians to be able to build a Survivorship Care Plan ready for your consult. Our Consultant Physicians will then tailor it according to the needs you identify with us when we meet you.

Medicare may help to pay for your Survivorship Plan and other services provided by Evexia Care, but it is essential that you obtain a medical referral from your general practitioner and/or oncologist before your appointment.

Extended consultations are available for an additional fee.

If you are travelling from a rural area you will need to check whether you can claim Isolated Patients Travel and Accommodation Assistance (IPTAS) given this is a specialist service that may not be provided in your area.

Your general practitioner or any of your specialists can refer you to Evexia Care. If you request a referral from your GP, we recommend asking for an indefinite referral.

Health Funds will not fund your visit to Evexia Care as this is an outpatient service.

Onwards referrals recommended to improve your wellbeing in your Survivorship Care Plan such as to exercise physiology, physiotherapy, lymphoedema, dietetics / nutrition may be covered by a chronic health care plan your General Practitioner can formulate. In addition some health funds may cover this as well as oncology massage, acupuncture and other integrative therapies such as yoga that have demonstrated benefits in wellness and recovery after a cancer diagnosis.

Confidentiality is highly important to us. Your consult and any information from health records, Medicare and contact details are held with strict privacy in accordance with our obligations under various State and Commonwealth legislation, including the Commonwealth Privacy Act 1988 and the Health Records and Information Privacy Act 2002 (NSW). You can authorise us which health providers you wish to be notified of your visit with Evexia Care to provide them with your Survivorship Care Plan.
Please bring your Medicare card, referral, recent tests performed by any doctors involved with your cancer care.
You will need to provide us at least 48 hour notice of cancellation or you will incur a cancellation fee.
